The web is awesome. The first website was put online on 6 August 1991, its web address was http://info.cern.ch. To put this in Context Mr Jones left school in 1992.
Since this point the web has exploded. The number of websites has increased dramatically, and the uses of the web have also increased.
Aims
This is an introduction to The web, and how to make content. The next unit - Web 2 will discuss how to incorporate style and behaviour into a web page.

(Communications and Networks) Knows the names of hardware e.g. hubs, routers, switches, and the names of protocols e.g. SMTP, iMAP, POP, FTP, TCP/IP, associated with networking computer systems.
